Install DotFeed (v8 - Current)

Where do I start?

  • If you already have product feeds pulling successfully from your storefront, then find the instructions for your specific channel under Feeds on the left navigation of this page.
  • If you have not used DotFeed before and you have an AspDotNetStoreFront, start here.

Download and Install the DotFeed Connector

To install a DotFeed Connector, you'll need FTP access to your site. If you don't have FTP information, contact your host to have them provide it to you.

  1. Once your DotFeed purchase or qualifying purchases are approved, log into your License Portal and click on the Software Downloads tab at the top of the page.
  2. In the DotFeed section, click on the link to Download the AspDotNetStorefront Connector.

  3. Once the Connector is downloaded, unzip the file. You should have a single .aspx file.

Uploading the DotFeed Connector (dotfeed.aspx)

  1. Access your storefront directory through FTP. Upload the dotfeed.aspx file to the root folder of your site.

  2. Open an internet browser and go to https://www.yoursite.com/dotfeed.aspx

You will probably receive this message:

"DotFeed is not enabled on this site"

This normal response means that the site recognizes that you're visiting this page for the first time and is creating an AppConfig in your Admin Console that you will visit in the next section of these instructions. Once this step is completed, have the root folder permissions set back as they were before.

Important: DotFeed works only with addresses starting with HTTPS not HTT

Setting and Remembering your Access Key (Versions ML8 - MSx9.4.2.0) Click here for Version 9.5+

  1. Log into the Admin Console of your storefront and reset the cache.
  2. Go to Configuration>Advanced>AppConfig Parameters and search for dotfeed.

  3. Once you find the correct Appconfig, click Edit and then enter an alpha-numeric value for the Access Key, which can be any alpha-numeric value you choose.
Important: Remember this value because you need to enter the same Access Key into your DotFeed Console.
  4. The DotFeed Connector file is now installed on your site and you're ready to set up your DotFeed Account.
